Quite a day!

We rode 63 tough miles today, lots of bumpy chip seal, cross winds and head winds, and a flat tire.  I had intended to put new tires on at our next rest day.  Fortunately, the tire didn’t go completely flat, and I was about four miles out from lunch, so I nursed it in to our stop, where I could take a new tire off the truck, there were helpful hands, and I could use a full size pump.

He is still around??  We rode through part of the Sam Houston National Forest.

We stopped at a rather yuppie coffee house in New Waverly, population 1000.
I had a delicious warm orange muffin, delicious but not photogenic.

More fence decoration.

Dave, coming up one of many hills today.  He is 81, our oldest rider, and I didn’t take this photo because he is always way ahead of me.
