The highway we rode was intersected by many dirt roads, very few paved ones.
John, a retired train engineer from Oregon has been on all the rides I have done with Ken and Nancy. We rode together a lot on the 2016 cross country trip, and trade stories as we ride.
A tailwind is great, but at lunch we needed shelter, both to keep warm and to keep the potato chips from blowing away.
The New Mexico sign was impressive but hard to photograph.
We are staying in Hobbs, just across the line from Texas. It has the most impressive town sign I’ve encountered.
