Sheep, Sevres, and a tailwind

Mother Nature more than made up today for what she gave us yesterday.  We had great weather, a tailwind that sent us down the road at 20 miles an hour, a fascinating lunch stop, and a very soft landing at a sheep ranch with very comfortable guest quarters, and lambs and Sandhill cranes for background music.  The 65 mile ride, and indeed, the whole day, went way too fast.

Sheep dog seemingly paying no attention to the sheep.  His job may have been to keep them off the road.

Our lunch stop.  We ate from the truck, and then toured the Charles M. Bair home and museum.  He made lots of money in sheep, railroads, and Alaskan gold, and he and his family lived very well on a huge sheep ranch in eastern Montana.  The small museum has an excellent collection of Edward M Curtis original prints and other Western art.

Fine French Sevres, in the Montana countryside.

Roughing it on the ranch.

Great way to end a fine day.
